Power Needs

  • Electrical Power

The increasing demand for energy is a growing problem and needs solutions that can last into the future. Current energy production is mostly based on depletable sources, like oil and coal to produce the main modern energy source, electricity. One clean option is converting solar power into electrical power.

  • Power use

Energy efficiency and reducing energy use can reduce the demand for energy production on both residential and industrial levels. Renewable sources like the sun and other clean energy production can further reduce the need for depletable energy.

  • Backup Power

Backup power generation can come in different forms. Battery storage, generators, and the grid itself are a few options. These are also covered in the energy storage section.

  • The Electric Grid

The electric grid is the main power source for modern society. The grid supplies continuous power but mostly uses depletable carbon producing fuels. One thing power companies are doing to move toward alternative energy sources is to buy back excess locally produced power. So, installing solar panels or living in a micro-grid solar community can cut your electric bill and produce less pollution.

  • Basic Solar System

The basic solar panel system consists of the panels, a transformer, and batteries. If connected to the grid, there will be additional transfer switches and to switch between solar power, running on batteries, running on the grid.
